PRINCIPLES AND PURPOSE
Believing the Scriptures to be God breathed and that they contain directions for personal and corporate life, United Baptist Church is an organization that is built upon the Word of God. Our business is introducing individuals to Christ and leading them to discipleship in Him.
Our membership is made up of those who have received Christ as their Savior and Lord. As a testimony to this salvation, each member has been baptized by immersion in water.
United Baptist Church is not subject to any external ecclesiastical organization, yet we recognize all who are in Christ as our brothers and sisters. We are affiliated with the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and the Southern Baptist Convention. However, the authority of God expressed in God given leadership (Pastor and Deacons) confirmed by the vote of our members determines the actions of our church.

AWANA |
|
|
|
AWANA is an international organization for boys and girls using their theme from 2 Timothy 2:15 (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed).
United's AWANA Clubs meet on Friday evenings at 6:00 P.M. and are for boys & girls ages 3 years through 6th grade.
We meet during the school year, except for school holidays or when schools have closed because of snow.
Boys & girls learn God's word in a fun atmosphere and earn "rewards" in the form of badges or pins for their book and scripture verses. Points are also earned for the AWANA store, where kids can use their earned points to "purhcase" toys and games.
We invite your children to learn of our Savior, Jesus Christ, in our AWANA Clubs.
Contact our Youth Director, Andrew Koch for information @ 301-577-0061.

How to become a Christian |
|
|
|
A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. A Christian has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, tries to obey Him in all things, and draws on His strength to help with the daily life. God made us for Himself and our souls are restless until they find rest in Him. Only God can fill the void in our life. The answers to our searching is accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of our life. To become a true Christian, we need to know the following basic facts from the Bible.
1. God Loves Us
Because of God's love for all persons, He desires that we have an unbroken fellowship with Him. John 3:16 (NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV) "But because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been saved."
