INTRO:
Worry – to choke, strange, injure, violate, to cause to feel terrible or
uneasy, to make anxious, to distress, uneasiness, distressed in mind
Worry – not trusting God with your present life
Trust Him for our past life – want our sins forgiven
Trust Him for our future life – want to go to Heaven
Don’t trust Him for our present life – we want to worry
13 times our NIV Bible uses the word “worry”
13 times our NIV Bible begins the word “worry” with “do not”

I.JESUS COMMANDS: “DO NOT WORRY”
A.Do not worry about your life
B.Do not worry about your Food – eating or drinking
1.Example: Birds –
a.They neither sow nor reap nor store
b.Heavenly Father feeds them
2.You are more valuable than birds – God will certainly give us food to eat
3.NOTE:
a.We cannot ADD one hour to our life :27
b.But, we can probably subtract hours from our lives by what we eat & drink.
4.Lord’s Prayer – give us this day our daily bread
5.Worrying demonstrates we don’t believe God can provide for us
C.Do not worry about your Clothing – what you will wear
1.Example: flowers
a.God clothes the flowers --Better than any man-made clothing
b.Example: King Solomon splendor pales in comparison with flowers
c.All flowers are temporary – yet God gloriously clothes them
2.God will clothe you – you of little faith
3.Worrying demonstrates our lack of faith
D.Do not worry about your To morrows –
1.Let tomorrow worry about itself
2.We are in God’s hands – He knows our needs
3.Worrying demonstrates that we can’t trust God with our life
E.Let the pagan non-Christian worry :32
1.They worry about food, clothing, to morrows
2.They worry because they don’t have the living God in their life
II.THE CURE FOR WORRYING
A.Seek God’s kingdom first
B.Seek God’s righteousness
C.THEN, God will provide all your necessities for life

A.Listen to King David
1.Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
2.Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
3.Psalm 119:52 I remember your ancient laws, O LORD, and I find comfort in them
4.Psalm 119:76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant

Ecclesiastes 11:10 So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body
